Hello! My name is Ilyusha, 6 years old. If I could talk, my story would sound something like this: « My mother always wanted a son, and when I was born, a strong and powerful boy, weighing almost 4 and a half kilograms, everyone's joy knew no bounds. I was brought home without any problems: I ate, slept, held my head up early, and was even ahead of my peers in development. My first teeth came in at three and a half months. I was generally a very cheerful, active baby, and when my mother called me, I always turned at the sound of my name, smiling and cooing. At six months old, I developed a fever, causing a stir at home. Home remedies didn't help, and I was taken to the hospital. There, I was immediately given injections, two X-rays, and a course of antibiotics over the course of 5 days. It changed my life. During the injections, I stopped moving, my body was covered in a cold sweat, but I didn't sleep. I can't describe my condition exactly, but it was obvious I was in terrible pain. I was losing consciousness. … The injections continued. I started crying constantly, couldn't sleep like before, and refused to eat. Then I stopped hearing the world around me. Diagnosis: Consequences of organic CNS damage of mixed genesis (antiperitoneal, infectious, enzymatic deficiency) - sensorimotor Alalia, bilateral sensorineural hearing loss1-2 , attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, epileptiform activity predominantly in the frontal lobes, severe delayed speech development due to metabolic disorders with enzymatic deficiency and mitochondrial dysfunction. At first, doctors diagnosed a speech delay, then neurologists treated intracranial pressure, and for a while, we visited a kindergarten for the deaf, where the director assured me my son was deaf. I didn't believe it. Finally, they diagnosed sensorineural hearing loss. 3-4 and said it was incurable.… But we didn't give up. We kept fighting, turning to every specialist who could help our child, including homeopaths, osteopaths, and Tibetan medicine practitioners. I know, my child was born hearing, but the hearing loss occurred after taking an antibiotic.… And a miracle happened. Gradually, with homeopathy, the child began to pay attention to sounds, and now he has hearing loss. 1-2 degrees. Sometimes we have a breakthrough, and the baby begins to pronounce syllables, and sometimes the mother breaks through, but everything goes somewhere else. The reason isn't just the hearing loss; there's something else going on. We started with the baby's diet: why does he only eat stewed potatoes and corn porridge? Why doesn't he eat meat or milk? Why, if I manage to mix something into his food, he eats it, but at the next feeding, he refuses to eat anything at all? We tested him for metabolic disorders, and it turned out that the child subconsciously consumes only those foods that his digestive tract can break down. My heart bleeds when I prepare his food; his diet is so meager. Since 19 August 2013 we have been registered at the Kharkiv State Medical University Hospital (KhSMGC), carefully following all recommendations. However, as it turns out, there's more to the problem.
