Furthermore, chemotherapy corrodes blood vessels, so these children cannot survive without help from superheroes—platelet donors. Becoming such a superhero isn't all that difficult. In addition to the requirements for a standard blood transfusion, you also need good veins, blood pressure, and a sufficient platelet count.

Before "beginning" their superhero duties, platelet donors must undergo a brief examination, as their task is very important. They undergo tests and a sample. If all their parameters are acceptable, they can begin the actual platelet donation. The entire procedure takes TWO hours.
