Friends! We have another emergency and need your help! The department is almost out of mercaptopurine. Only 6 bottles left. We're contacting trusted volunteers!
You may remember that from September 2011 to December 2018 we imported Puri-Netol first from Moscow, and then Mercaptopurine from Poland. This medication is essential for children and adults all over Ukraine; it's supportive chemotherapy after the main treatment. Without it, leukemia patients simply won't survive. Our little Odessans need 30 vials of this medication per month. It's hard to even imagine how much adults need...
In 2019 the medication was purchased through a state program, and supplies lasted until May 2020 of the year.
In July 2020 of the year, we purchased it again and looked for different delivery methods. Then a small delivery from the budget, and then it ran out again (https://www.facebook.com/PchelkaElena/posts/3105703102832284).
It's unknown when the next deliveries will be, but children need treatment! Under prolonged quarantine, it's very difficult to quickly procure medications that are included in treatment protocols but not available for government procurement.
Please, if anyone can bring the medication from Poland to Ukraine and then ship it to Odessa, please respond.
