For 15 February - International Childhood Cancer Day - we're holding a charity event. «Donors of Life»
Children from the oncohematology department of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital need blood transfusions daily. Often, there's a shortage of the right blood type. Then doctors, parents, and volunteers have to urgently search for blood, calling blood banks far beyond Odessa.
We invite all caring people to take part in the campaign «Donors of Life» and share your blood for the benefit of seriously ill children and yourself!
For yourself - therefore:
* Donating blood is good for your health – starts the body's renewal process, thereby boosting immunity and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
* When donating blood, it is tested for blood type, Rh factor, biochemical parameters, HIV, hepatitis "B", "C", syphilis, tumor markers, and TORCH infection.
*They also test for Covid antibodies for free.
And most importantly:
*Blood transfusion – This is one of the specific types of therapy used to treat children and adults with various types of severe pathologies. No matter how much money is raised, a person can die if they are left without a blood transfusion. There are no exceptions to this rule!
*One blood donation helps save three lives, as red blood cells, plasma, and platelet concentrates are prepared from a single dose of whole blood.
*After donating blood, the donor is given time off from work and school on the day of donation and the following day.
*Blood donation – is simply a great opportunity to help people free of charge.
