Maksim Teryokhin from Avdiivka — a kind and cheerful guy, who at his 18 years old has already faced difficult and far from youthful trials. At first, life seemed simple and measured: Maksim graduated from school, then went to work as a crane operator, like his mother. He had his profession in hand, his girlfriend and friends nearby, and his life was just beginning. Suddenly, war ruined all his plans... Maxim and his — mother were forced to flee, having lost their stable income and their home, and settled near Kharkiv.
Almost simultaneously, Max began to feel unwell, and the diagnosis sounded like a cruel twist of fate: — chondrosarcoma, cancer of the left tibia. From now on, he had to fight not only for a minimum standard of living in a new place, but also for and life itself. Max began treatment at the Kharkiv Institute of Medical Radiology, where he underwent several courses of polychemotherapy.
During treatment, it became clear that the cancer had destroyed his bone, and he would need prosthetics. Thanks to a donor from Germany, who donated 2000 euro for Maksim, and contributions raised by his family, Maksim was able to purchase an endoprosthesis. However, not a German one, but a Ukrainian-made one with a German joint, costing 120 000 UAH. Maksim was given a list of medications for the surgery (vk.com/photo-18176487_365526351), which amounts to 15 000 UAH. The surgery was supposed to be yesterday, but didn't take place — exhausted by the collection for the prosthesis, the family was unable to collect the required amount and purchase the medications.
Currently (21 May as of 14:19) have raised — 5157 UAH. That is there is 33 % of the required amount. The surgery will happen when all 100 % of the medications and consumables have been purchased. And it is absolutely necessary for this to happen as soon as possible. — With bone cancer, there is a «time window» in which a prosthesis can be installed. Not earlier, and not later, since all processes in the body have their own cycles.
Please help Maxim. Having already managed to such a huge sum for a prosthesis, it would be a shame to postpone the surgery due to a lack of other, more minor needs. But without them, the surgery, alas, is impossible.
