Katya grew up a healthy, active child, took dance classes, and everything was fine. In 2013 when she was 14 years old, her health began to deteriorate at her parents decided to go to the local hospital. her blood was drawn for a general analysis and it was found that her hemoglobin 55 was normal 120-150. Katya was immediately referred to the oncohematology department of the regional children's hospital.

\n

After agonizing tests, a puncture, and biopsy, she was diagnosed with a rare — severe aplastic anemia (a bone marrow disease). For the Polischenko family, this was a shock and a difficult ordeal. The girl underwent chemotherapy in Odesa and a year of therapeutic therapy. The disease receded, and the family left the hospital joyful and happy, hoping that the grief was over. But after 7 months, a relapse occurred. The only salvation — was a bone marrow transplant (BMT) from an unrelated donor abroad. The cost of such an operation ranges  in the range of 150-300 thousands of euros. Now the life of the 15 year-old girl depends on this amount, which, unfortunately she has no relatives.

\n

The Polishchenko family asks and begs everyone who is not indifferent to the misery of others to help raise money to save the child. As of we are currently negotiating with all possible clinics regarding BMT and the official cost of the operation will be announced after the invoice is issued.

\n

Currently, Katya is only receiving support — with blood transfusions and platelets; more can't be done in Ukraine to help her . But this can't continue for long because Constant blood transfusions have a detrimental effect on health — the liver and the immune system. There is a high risk of infection.

\n

Katya is already an adult and perfectly understands the complexity of this disease. 6 June 2015 she turns  16 years old, and since her The most precious gift she could give would be the surgery she needs. Please help Katya get closer to her dream!
