A few weeks ago, we had a QUEST, which involved many people from different cities and countries. We urgently needed to transfer money for medicine from Odessa to Kyiv, and then from Ukraine to Turkey. This medication is not registered in Ukraine and costs 2500$. This medication supported the life of our adult patient; he was preparing for TCM and thanks to it, he was able to enter remission.
The medicine was purchased and delivered to Ukraine. Yesterday 23 October at 16:01 I received a message from a volunteer that the medicine was in Kyiv, and literally in 16:03 a foundation employee who had been helping Zhenya for the past few months received a text message from his wife: «Zhenya Gone...»
Zhenya fought for his life until the last minute and was an optimist. He always joked, even when his white blood cell count and platelet count were practically at zero. He believed in Victory!!!
He was an amazingly kind person and when he completed his first course of treatment in 2013 he called me and said: «You helped me, and now I want to help you» and suggested that I get my car inspected at the service station. Of course, I didn't abuse myself and politely declined the offer, but the fact is!
A year and a half later, I relapsed, and needed a BMT from a not a related donor. Zhenya sold his business and underwent treatment at mostly using his own account and the funds in the fund account, and applied for BMT surgery to the Ministry of Health and waited a long time for a positive decision. While waiting, he had another relapse, and his chances diminished. But and then Zhenya didn't become despondent, rallied his spirit, and continued to fight. Unfortunately, the disease proved stronger... Such a shame!!!

Evgeny has been dealing with doctors since an early age. Zhenya's mother has suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for over 10 years, and his father died in his 49 year of life due to cardiac arrest.
The young parents recently lost their first child, and now, unexpectedly, it was Evgeny's turn to . At first, the young man didn't pay attention to his fever, pain in his heart, in his lungs, fatigue, occasional dizziness, nausea, and the appearance of acne on his back and bruises all over his body, but when the blood began to clot poorly due to the slightest scratch, he decided to see a doctor.
A follow-up blood test revealed anemia, thrombocytopenia, and blast cells — 51%. With this disappointing result, Evgeniy was hospitalized in the hematology department of the Regional Clinical Hospital, where a detailed bone marrow analysis was performed, revealing a white blast count — 74,4%. This means his blood was infected with cancer cells in this percentage. In a precise diagnosis of — acute myeloid leukemia (M4 variant) was subsequently established and a course of chemotherapy was prescribed.
At the moment Evgeny has completed the 3rd chemotherapy cycle. And each time, he experienced terrible pain throughout his entire body, temperature fluctuations (reaching 41,2), nausea, weakness, stomatitis (he couldn't speak for weeks), and mental and physical exhaustion. Zhenya was repeatedly given blood products — erythrocyte sedimentation rate, fresh frozen plasma, and platelet concentrate. About 80 thousand UAH were spent on the treatment — a huge thank you for the assistance to Yevhen's relatives, friends, fellow villagers, and also to the donors who responded.
The University Hospital of Regensburg, Germany, is ready to accept Zhenya for a bone marrow transplant and further rehabilitation.
Surgery — is the only chance for his recovery, but to make this possible, a huge sum of money is needed, which Evgeny Ovdeychuk's family is unable to raise. Zhenya believes that

"We would like to express our gratitude to the entire team "Little Bee" for their kindness, responsiveness, advice, and truly tremendous support, which is so necessary in such difficult situations. We have good news and bad news. The good news is that, with the help of Pchelka and the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, we raised the necessary funds for a bone marrow transplant, but the bad news is that the glomus tumor in the carotid space has recurred, growing 2 times larger than the previous one. We again contacted O.N. Borisenko, the doctor who performed the tumor removal surgery, at the Kyiv Lorinstitute. They told us that the tumor couldn't have grown so large in such a short time and gave us a list of MRIs that needed to be done as soon as possible. When we approached the specialists with this list, they told us it would take 6 hours and at least 7000 UAH, and we wouldn't be able to see them for at least 2 weeks!!! Without further ado, we decided to go to the 9 clinical hospital in Minsk for a consultation. After conducting a single test, Belarusian doctors came to a horrifying conclusion: the diagnosis made by the Kyiv doctors was incorrect!!! The tumor in our case is a manifestation of leukemia, which is treated 2-3 with chemotherapy and is administered according to a protocol identical worldwide. Having removed it in Kyiv, not only did Zhenya lose hearing in his left ear and require a long and painful rehabilitation, but they also possibly triggered a relapse of the leukemia. As a result, we underwent 2 high-dose chemotherapy, which we have been trying to eliminate for six months now, as fungal lesions in the lungs. We decided not to take any risks and begin treatment in Belarus, and will possibly undergo further treatment in Ukraine, as the cost of one course of chemotherapy in Minsk ranges from 7000 dollars. "Hello! We're still in a state of uncertainty, which is even more depressing. After a course of anti-flu treatment, there were no changes in our lungs. A consultation with a pulmonologist at the 11 hospital was scheduled for Tuesday; we're hoping for more specific answers about our situation. Our attending physician is at a loss, unable to decide what to do about another round of chemotherapy. But there's good news: the Odessa Regional Administration has allocated us assistance 50 thousand UAH."

"Hello! I completed the 2th course of high-dose chemotherapy, and compared to the previous ones, my vital signs took a long time to recover. We sent all my test results and lung imaging to Minsk to decide on the next course of action, but they're not accepting me yet because I can see residual tissue damage in my lungs due to the fungus. I consulted with my doctor and was prescribed a double dose of the antifungal drug Ampholip, which has increased in price by 400 UAH since its re-registration. I need 12 vials (28800 UAH). I contacted the Odessa Regional Administration about targeted assistance, but they told me to wait for the commission's decision. We've been waiting for two months. I'm glad my voice is slowly recovering after surgery to remove a glomus tumor from my ear. Stay healthy!"

"Good afternoon! I went to Belarus. They took some tests for an unrelated donor search. Before the transplant, the fungus must be completely cleared from my body. Since time is running out, I'll be admitted to the Regional Hospital on Monday for another round of chemotherapy. We'll also be treating the fungus in my lungs. However, the drug I need, Ampholip 5 mg, hasn't been re-certified and isn't available in Ukraine yet. We'll be looking for an alternative. "Good afternoon! We have good news: I'm in remission! My blood counts are almost normal, although they've extended my antifungal therapy, and I'm still in the hospital. As soon as I'm discharged, I'll go to Minsk for additional tests and a final bill. This high-dose chemotherapy cost over 100 thousand UAH. "Following the recommendations of Belarusian doctors, we decided to undergo high-dose chemotherapy in Odessa. Unfortunately, the course isn't going well, and I've developed complications affecting my lungs. The scans showed a fungal infection in my lungs. I'm taking 5 types of antibiotics daily, and I'm also receiving platelet, ermectin (blood), and plasma transfusions every 2-3 day for 2,5 weeks. "Good afternoon! We are turning to you for help again, we have a relapse!!! We fought for two and a half years; during the last 3 courses of chemotherapy his ear became blocked, the doctor diagnosed otitis media and treatment was started (antibiotics, puncturing of the ear, hormonal drugs), but nothing helped. After an MRI of the brain a tumour was found next to the carotid artery, which had grown through and was affecting 3 important nerves, and he was referred for surgery in Kyiv. The operation lasted 9 hours, he was under anaesthesia for 12 hours, and the hearing in one ear could not be saved. Rehabilitation was very hard, he could neither swallow nor speak. The other day we had a puncture taken, and the results were shocking - 85% blast cells!!! The operation provoked the growth of cancer cells. A bone marrow transplant is urgently needed - it is the only chance of saving him. With the help of friends and relatives we have collected 50 thousand dollars. When we had a consultation in Belarus 2 years ago, the cost of the operation was 105 thousand euros. Now it has to be clarified. In the next few days we are going to travel there and the exact sum needed will be known. Please help us, we are selling everything we can!"

Evgeniy is currently recovering from chemotherapy. His white blood cell count is quite low - 2.8, ESR - 30. This means his body is prone to inflammatory processes. The next round of chemotherapy will begin on 5 May. Thank you so much for your help, and stay healthy!

Thank you all for your support! Evgeniy is undergoing another round of chemotherapy. He feels well, except for a sore throat and a fever. He'll be discharged from the hospital in a few days for 2-3 weeks, and then everything will start all over again. The most important thing is that Evgeniy hasn't lost hope for a full recovery. Since 20 October, Zhenya was admitted to the regional hospital for 12 chemotherapy. A bone marrow aspiration test was performed, which showed a blast cell count 0.8%, which is within the normal range of 5.0%. Unfortunately, compatibility with his sister is negative. A related donor test can only be performed in Kyiv, so it will take quite a while. The search is underway among cousins. Each course of chemotherapy costs the family up to 10 thousand UAH. This is in addition to the need to raise money for the surgery. We hope for any support. Thank you all!

Hello! Zhenya has completed his 7th course of chemotherapy. The treatment was complicated by bronchitis; he spent three weeks in the hospital, so in addition to citrabine and cyclophosphamide, he had to take the antibiotics mepenam, amicil, and floxium. But before that, we managed to travel to Belarus for a consultation at the 9th City Clinical Hospital, where they concluded that it is currently advisable to continue maintenance therapy courses according to the treatment protocol. And if a compatible related donor is found, an allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant is possible.
If his sister is a suitable donor (her blood samples will soon be sent to a clinic in Minsk), the cost of the operation will be — 77720 euro; otherwise, — 105000 euro. The family has raised — 30000 euro, and we ask all concerned to donate.

Zhenya is currently at the Regional Hospital, undergoing the 4th chemotherapy block. The course was delayed due to a sore throat. They spent three days fighting a fever, administering antibiotics (Mepenam and Floxium) 3 times a day. His blood counts are returning to normal, but he still has a persistent cough and sore throat. Negotiations are underway with a German doctor about Zhenya undergoing a full diagnostic examination in Germany. We are awaiting a response. The next course of chemotherapy is scheduled to begin in 3 weeks, so we may not have time to send it.
