We appeal to everyone who cares – help save the life of a young mother – Olha Osachuk!
On 28 July Olia (born 25.05.1996 ) and her husband were in a road accident that happened in
the town of Tatarbunary, Odesa region. Olia's husband – 22-year-old Serhii – died at the scene of his injuries. Olha, with multiple injuries (fractures of seven ribs, the collarbone and the sacrum, a severe injury to the brain stem with haematomas, a coma of the 2nd degree), was taken within twenty-four hours to intensive care in Odesa. While she was in intensive care the young woman ran a high temperature almost every day because of the head injury – 40°C. It could be brought down only to 38°C. Olha has cerebral oedema.
Olia's parents were advised to approach the Brovary research and practice centre of neurorehabilitation «NODUS». Specialists from this centre came to Odesa to examine her. They said they could help and that Olha had a chance of living.
Since the clinic issues its bill a month in advance, all the money of Olia's parents and the funds raised by friends, relatives and well-wishers went on paying for the first month of rehabilitation – 206000 UAH, on the examination by the specialists of «NODUS» in Odesa – 26000 UAH, and on transport by intensive-care ambulance – 15700 UAH.
At the clinic the young woman was also found to have pneumonia with fluid and hepatitis from a bruised liver, but the most important thing is her head. The doctors expect that it will take from three to six months to get Olha back on her feet. The girl's family believe and hope that she will soon open her eyes. At home Olia is waited for by her little daughter Polinochka, who is only a year and four months old! The little girl has already lost her father and she really needs her MOTHER!!!
According to preliminary figures, within a month at least 200000-250 000 hryvnias more have to be raised for the second month of treatment at the «NODUS» clinic. The clinic will provide the bill a little later.
