Today Mykyta passed away. He fought the insidious illness for a very long time, but sadly it proved stronger.  Thank you to everyone who helped him in this fight all that time! We shall remember how patiently and bravely this one-year-old little boy held on to his life!

Today Mykyta's tummy was measured; it has gone down by 5 cm. The tests also show that the cancer cells are decreasing (Lactat-deshidrogenasa was 16000 UI/L, and this morning 9850 UI/L). That is very good! It means the chemotherapy is working. And there is no fluid in the lungs either. That is one more sign that the tumour is getting smaller. Mykyta is doing very well and he will succeed!

Nikita and his mother have already started treatment in Barcelona. At the clinic, Doctor reviewed the latest documents from previous stages of treatment, examined Nikita, undressed him completely,  examined his mouth for ulcers or wounds. During his three months of treatment in India, the doctors had never done this. A nurse took a blood sample. The boy didn't even notice; he was so used to it. Then they weighed Nikita, leaving only his diaper. He weighed 8 kg 50 grams. In India, they weighed him differently, and his weight came out to 9 kg. This means that all the chemotherapy dosage calculations were incorrect, resulting in a severe overdose of cisplatin, which was confirmed by a blood test. This explains the aches, pains, vomiting, and poor sleep. The doctor is also very concerned about why the boy's tumor wasn't removed after the third round of chemotherapy, when it had shrunk. Now the tumor has grown again, and the only option is high-dose chemotherapy.

The Barcelona clinic billed Nikita for treatment - 94 144 euro. This amount is much higher than the cost of treatment in India, but Nikita has a much better chance of achieving remission in Spain.  Nikita's parents have decided to go to Barcelona and are asking for your support in this decision and to help their little one!

Following the latest PET scan results, Nikita's parents have decided not to continue treatment in India, as the treatment prescribed there has not produced the expected results. Documents have been sent to the Barcelona clinic, where a diagnostic invoice is expected. Furthermore, if Nikita is treated in Europe, there's a chance that European foundations will respond and provide charitable assistance, which will significantly facilitate the fundraising.

We received the PET scan results today.  They weren't entirely encouraging... There's some progress—the tumor has shrunk, but not quite as much as Dr. Arora himself expected. We were all very hoping that the tumor would shrink significantly, and that Nikita would be able to avoid radiation therapy and surgery... unfortunately, for now, the planned course of treatment remains to be followed.

Nikita's treatment is going according to plan. Three of eight chemotherapy cycles are already over.  By the end of February, the boy must undergo another 5 cycles. Nikita after chemotherapy feels very unwell. A few days after  3  the IV, he begins severe vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. Only after 30 taking antiemetic pills can he eat something. The doctor says this is completely normal for this type of treatment. After the fourth round of chemotherapy, Nikita will have a urine sample taken to show how much the cancer cell count has decreased.

Nikita isn't feeling very well; he doesn't want to  eat or drink. He's fussy, asks to be picked up, and his toys have become uninteresting. The doctor said this is normal after chemotherapy. Nikita and his mother have now moved into an apartment. Chemotherapy will resume in a week.
