9 September 2022 Vlad Kozak passed away in a Munich hospital.
Mom sent a message on Viber: " We're in trouble, Vlad has passed away... We arrived in Schwabing this morning, and in the evening he passed away..." Vlad received a bone marrow transplant at an Italian clinic, but the cells didn't take, and he had an early relapse. Vlad's mother believed in her son's victory until the very end, searching for a clinic that would agree to help. But the disease proved stronger!

I – Eleonora Kozak, mother of Vladislav Kozak. Since November 2021 we've been at the Odessa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, in the hematology department.
We arrived here a few days after Vlad's birthday. He turned 14 years old. And, like a bolt from the blue, the diagnosis – AML.
From the first days of treatment, everything unfolded so quickly... After a short preparation and examination, the first round of chemotherapy began. Afterward, my son had a very difficult time – his temperature constantly rose, he took antibiotics, etc. At some point, Vlad suffered cardiac arrest, and was taken to intensive care, where he remained for a week. Then, he suffered another cardiac arrest.
Doctors were unsure how to stabilize his heart rhythm; Vlad had myocarditis. Finally, they discovered that the heart complication was due to his coronavirus infection and chemotherapy.
My son is currently undergoing treatment with cardiac medications, but his underlying condition requires continued chemotherapy. Treatment for his heart and the underlying disease – leukemia – requires numerous medications and tests in a private laboratory, cardiac CT scans, etc.
Ladushka – is a very smart, handsome, and well-read boy. He has a variety of hobbies, including computer games.
I'm raising my children alone. I know – there are so many kind, compassionate people in the world! With God's help and the help of caring people, Ladushka will definitely overcome all her problems and defeat all illnesses!
