Maxim was born a healthy baby. He only suffered from colds, but usually for short periods. When 7 June 2012 the baby's temperature rose, his mother thought it was another cold. But  on the second day, she noticed that the baby's tummy had become hard and began to swell. The mother assumed it was the medication she was using to treat his cold, but it turned out that the boy's liver and spleen were enlarged. At the district hospital, they ran tests and leukemia was diagnosed. On the same day, Maksim was referred to Odessa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, where the diagnosis was confirmed.

Treatment began: a course of chemotherapy and antibiotics.

Over time, the little one began to have difficulty walking, then, due to the chemotherapy,  he developed stomatitis. — For two weeks, Maksim couldn't eat anything. To be able to at least drink tea, he had to rinse his mouth with lidocaine for pain relief.

As soon as the stomatitis was cured, Maxim came down with chickenpox. And his fever rose again and he was given antibiotics again to treat the chickenpox. To the trials that befell the little boy, another one was added: 12 In September, Maxim was diagnosed with hepatitis B. Until this point, the family treated the child themselves. Now their funds are not enough. Just for the drug Intron for the treatment of hepatitis In the month, they have to pay 2 700 UAH.

Maximka's parents are appealing to all caring people with a request for help, — the child needs long-term, expensive treatment.
