The close-knit Gritsevich family has three children — three girls. Until recently, the family lived happily. Until, in May 2014 the eldest girl, Vitalina, was diagnosed with chronic renal failure 5 end-stage. That is, the girl needs a kidney transplant. In July, Vitalina received a kidney from her grandmother, but unfortunately, the surgery was unsuccessful, and the kidney did not take. In the girl is currently in clinic «OKHMATDET» in the toxicology department on peritoneal dialysis (renal replacement therapy).
The saving Vitalina's life. The price of a child's life is 2 Children's Clinical Hospital of Minsk has agreed to take on the 60 000 US The money needs to be raised within a month. The girl's family can't raise this amount on their own. So the parents are forced to ask for help. Vitalinka dreams of being with her whole family and friends. The girl hasn't seen all of them for 6 months. She really loves going to school and believes that everything will soon be over, the illness will be behind her, and she will return to her class with her friends and teachers.

Today her mother telephoned Minsk; the money has all arrived, and on Monday they are expected there for an examination, after which she can be put on the waiting list for a transplant.

Because of a very low haemoglobin level the girl begins to suffocate when lying down. On Monday she was in Odesa with her parents at the dialysis centre, where a doctor examined her and prescribed a drug that should help in time. The state is supposed to provide this medicine to Vitalina free of charge, but the Hrytsevych family had to pay 2 000 UAH for it

Vitalina is now at home on peritoneal dialysis (renal replacement therapy). Every 4 hours an isotonic solution of salts and glucose is introduced into the child's abdominal cavity. This solution is brought to the family from Odesa once a month.
In spite of this unpleasant procedure the girl does not lose heart and believes that one day she will be helped and her family will be happy again.

Since the Hrytsevych family has no Internet, Vitalina's mother is constantly in touch with us by telephone. Today her mother shared the news that her daughter is feeling well and in good spirits! The girl is continuing her treatment at home - dialysis and the accompanying therapy.
Recently teachers have started coming to Vitalina at home, which makes her very glad. The girl loves studying and is very much looking forward to going back to her class.

Vitalina is at home now and feels well. Even the dialysis sessions go better now.
She is fully supplied with the solutions needed for dialysis. There is a slight shortage of medicines, since the family lives in the Odesa region and so they have to travel to Odesa more often.
Thank you all for your support!

Not long ago Vitalina was transferred from peritoneal dialysis in Kyiv (the "Okhmatdyt" clinic) to Odesa. The dialysis solutions, which were previously not provided to patients with chronic renal failure in our city, are now fully supplied by the Dialysis Centre of Odesa. This makes the girl's life much easier. At last she has come home and can now even attend school between the dialysis procedures, which she has to have 4 times a day.
Vitalina's mother expresses her enormous gratitude to all the people who care and who are helping her daughter!

Vitalina and her mother are in Kyiv, at the "OKHMATDYT" clinic. Unfortunately, this is a forced measure, because dialysis cannot be carried out in Odesa.
The girl was very happy when the doctors allowed her to go home to Odesa for a whole three weeks, having first issued the dialysis solutions for that period. The girl's condition is stable, but in order to maintain it Vitalina and her mother have to "LIVE" in hospital, in another city, far from the family.
The fundraising is going very slowly.
