On 7 June 2013 Kristina passed away. The money, 2000 UAH, that had been transferred for the child’s treatment was given to her mother for the funeral.

According to the latest news, Kristina has undergone another brain bypass surgery. She can now sit, talk, and move one leg. Rehabilitation is taking place at home.
A neurosurgical examination revealed that Kristina may also need spinal surgery, but specialists are still questioning this possibility. The girl is very weak: she recently recovered from pneumonia.
As prescribed by doctors, Kristina will undergo an MRI scan within a month. This procedure will cost approximately 1 000 dollars.
