«The arrival of a child in the family — is a joy. Our family is joyful to the point of extreme. But 28.11.2011 in illness knocked on our door. Our middle daughter fell ill. Upon learning that the disease could lead to blindness, we were horrified. The treatment was taken with utter seriousness, to rule out complications — they refused to attend the preschool. When the child started school, she had to miss classes frequently due to hospitalizations and examinations. From each year, it became clear that the disease was gaining ground. Her vision was deteriorating, complications were appearing. In January of this year, my daughter did not want to go to school at anyone. Why should I go there if I don't see anything anyway ? I had to admit that treatment in Ukraine wasn't helping. We turned abroad. The trip was successful, and treatment was found that really helps. With her nose buried in a textbook, the little one began to read with joy. She improved her grades, so much so that she passed her final exam with high scores. When the doctor announced that surgery was possible and our little girl would have a chance to improve her vision, our joy knew no bounds. Our daughter can see her mother's eyes, recognize friends not only by their silhouettes and by their voice, cross the road herself, and copy from the board! I sit across from my daughter and look at her, seeing all the features of her childish face with adult expression, and understand that for her, without a voice, I am just a silhouette. Even if it is my own, but a silhouette. Only surgery can change this, and we don't have the funds for it. We really need your help, which will be a ray of light for our daughter.»
