On 1 June a new project of the «Little Bee» foundation started - raising funds to buy a motherboard for the Easysta blood gas analyser for the cardiovascular surgery department of the Odesa Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital.

The Easystat analyser makes it possible to analyse blood gases and the acid-base balance. It allows urgent conditions in surgery, anaesthesiology and intensive care to be diagnosed in time, and it is also needed to monitor the patient during recovery. In the cardiovascular surgery department of the Odesa Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital the Easystat analyser is used constantly during operations and in the post-operative period.

A sudden power surge damaged the motherboard of the analyser. To get the device working again it has to be replaced. The board costs UAH 19 000. If the Easystat analyser is not repaired, heart operations will be impossible.
