Help for displaced persons

1 May

Every day, the foundation receives a large number of calls from displaced persons asking: "Can I get humanitarian aid from you?!"

People, having abandoned everything, taking only documents and a few belongings, are fleeing the war. Many people come to our city with small children. All callers ask for food, personal hygiene products, medicine, and much more.

Humanitarian aid includes cereals, pasta, and other non-perishable products, which also tend to run out and need to be replenished. However, products such as meat, fish, cheese, milk, eggs, and other perishable items are rarely included in humanitarian aid.

Finding yourself in a strange city without housing, money, or work, with small children who need proper food and no funds, is very difficult. Therefore, we are launching the program "Assistance to Displaced Persons". As funds become available, we will purchase food and donate it to organizations that assist people with IDP status. In early May, the foundation transferred 5000 UAH from the unaddressed donations it received to charity. The coordinator of the humanitarian center for helping people affected by the war used this money to purchase fresh eggs. Approximately 250 families received this assistance. Thanks to the volunteers of the humanitarian center and personally to Lilia Vasilievna Leonidova for the photo report. The charitable foundation has known her for many years. During peacetime, the first requests for assistance for the foundation's beneficiaries received a prompt response. Now it's time for us to help too.

The Humanitarian Volunteer Centre for helping refugees is at: Odesa, 18 Rishelievska Street. The entrance is from Zhukovskoho Street, in the building of school No.117. The centre is open from 9.00 to 17.00. Bring your displaced-person documents, tax number and passport (for children, birth certificates). Telephone +380682546669. One family receives aid once every three weeks.

A huge thank you to Auchan Fontanka and personally to Iryna Kazanska for the help with food. Ice cream was sent for the children. The aid was taken to displaced people, wards of the charitable foundation "Obiimy maibutnie". The foundation opened a few weeks ago, but its co-founder  Oleksandr Meloian is a long-standing volunteer of the "Little Bee" foundation, a decent man, an excellent photographer and a very good friend. Oleksandr has been helping Little Bee since 2016, and as long as he is a co-founder of the "Obiimy maibutnie" foundation we shall help and support it. We thank Sasha for the photo report.
